Versions prior to 0.16.0 contain an open redirect vulnerability in the \"Sign In with GitHub\" functionality of Novu's open-source repository. It could have allowed an attacker to force a victim into opening a malicious URL and thus, potentially log into the repository under the victim's account gaining full control of the account. This vulnerability only affected the Novu Cloud and Open-Source deployments if the user manually enabled the GitHub OAuth on their self-hosted instance of Novu. Users should upgrade to version 0.16.0 to receive a patch.","severity":{"version":"3.1","score":5.4,"vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:U/C:L/I:L/A:N","level":"medium","assessor":"cna","from":"cve"},"epss":{"day":"2026-11-08","score":0.00393,"percentile":0.33762,"model":"v2026.06.15"},"facts":{"in_kev":false,"known_exploited":false,"public_exploit":false,"fix_available":false},"cwes":["CWE-601"],"published":"2023-07-06T14:47:22Z","modified":"2026-10-28T02:30:55Z","products":[{"vendor":"novu","product":"novu"},{"vendor":"novuhq","product":"novu"}],"references":[{"url":"https://github.com/novuhq/novu/security/advisories/GHSA-xxv3-m43w-gv79","tags":["x_refsource_CONFIRM","x_transferred","Vendor Advisory","advisory"]},{"url":"https://github.com/novuhq/novu/pull/3510","tags":["x_refsource_MISC","x_transferred","Patch","fix"]},{"url":"https://github.com/CVEProject/cvelistV5/tree/main/cves/2023/35xxx/CVE-2023-35948.json","tags":["advisory"]},{"url":"https://nvd.nist.gov/vuln/detail/CVE-2023-35948","tags":["advisory"]}],"sources":{"cve":[{"id":"CVE-2023-35948","title":"Novu Open Redirect Vulnerability in Sign-In with GitHub Functionality","description":"Novu provides an API for sending notifications through multiple channels.
