There is a Floating point exception in the Exiv2::ValueType function in Exiv2 0.26 that will lead to a remote denial of service attack via crafted input.

Opening an image created on certain pentax cameras with gwenview, which uses the exiv2 library, causes gwenview to segfault. Exiv2 upstream created a patch to resolve this problem (bugfix - applies only to mga6).

These are all security issues fixed in the exiv2-0.27.4-1.2 package on the GA media of openSUSE Tumbleweed.

This update for exiv2 to 0.26 fixes the following security issues:

It was discovered that Exiv2 incorrectly handled certain files. An attacker could possibly use this issue to cause a denial of service. CVE-2017-9239 only affected Ubuntu 14.04 LTS and Ubuntu 16.04 LTS.
