Updated kernel packages fix security vulnerabilities
This kernel update is based on the upstream 4.14.137 and fixes at least the following security issues:
A Spectre SWAPGS gadget was found in the Linux kernel's implementation of system interrupts. An attacker with local access could use this information to reveal private data through a Spectre like side channel (CVE-2019-1125).
A flaw that allowed an attacker to corrupt memory and possibly escalate privileges was found in the mwifiex kernel module while connecting to a malicious wireless network (CVE-2019-3846).
An infinite loop issue was found in the vhost_net kernel module in Linux Kernel up to and including v5.1-rc6, while handling incoming packets in handle_rx(). It could occur if one end sends packets faster than the other end can process them. A guest user, maybe remote one, could use this flaw to stall the vhost_net kernel thread, resulting in a DoS scenario (CVE-2019-3900).
A flaw was found in the Linux kernel’s Bluetooth implementation of UART. An attacker with local access and write permissions to the Bluetooth hardware could use this flaw to issue a specially crafted ioctl function call and cause the system to crash (CVE-2019-10207).
WireGuard has been updated to 0.0.20190702.

Updated kernel-linus packages fix security vulnerabilities
This kernel-linus update is based on the upstream 5.3.11 and fixes at least the following security issues:
Insufficient access control in a subsystem for Intel (R) processor graphics may allow an authenticated user to potentially enable escalation of privilege via local access (CVE-2019-0155).
A Spectre SWAPGS gadget was found in the Linux kernel's implementation of system interrupts. An attacker with local access could use this information to reveal private data through a Spectre like side channel (CVE-2019-1125).
A flaw was found in the Linux kernel’s Bluetooth implementation of UART. An attacker with local access and write permissions to the Bluetooth hardware could use this flaw to issue a specially crafted ioctl function call and cause the system to crash (CVE-2019-10207).
TSX Asynchronous Abort condition on some CPUs utilizing speculative execution may allow an authenticated user to potentially enable information disclosure via a side channel with local access (CVE-2019-11135).
Improper invalidation for page table updates by a virtual guest operating system for multiple Intel(R) Processors may allow an authenticated user to potentially enable denial of service of the host system via local access (CVE-2018-12207).
For proper mitigations and fixes for theese issues, a microcode update is also needed, either with a bios/uefi update from your hardware vendor or by installing the microcode-0.20191112-1.mga7.nonfree update (mga#25688).
There is heap-based buffer overflow in the marvell wifi chip driver that allows local users to cause a denial of service(system crash) or possibly execute arbitrary code (CVE-2019-14814, CVE-2019-14815, CVE-2019-14816).
An out-of-bounds access issue was found in the way Linux kernel's KVM hypervisor implements the Coalesced MMIO write operation. It operates on an MMIO ring buffer 'struct kvm_coalesced_mmio' object, wherein write indices 'ring->first' and 'ring->last' value could be supplied by a host user-space process. An unprivileged host user or process with access to '/dev/kvm' device could use this flaw to crash the host kernel, resulting in a denial of service or potentially escalating privileges on the system (CVE-2019-14821).
A buffer overflow flaw was found in the way Linux kernel's vhost functionality that translates virtqueue buffers to IOVs, logged the buffer descriptors during migration. A privileged guest user able to pass descriptors with invalid length to the host when migration is underway, could use this flaw to increase their privileges on the host (CVE-2019-14835).
In the Linux kernel before 5.2.14, rds6_inc_info_copy in net/rds/recv.c allows attackers to obtain sensitive information from kernel stack memory because tos and flags fields are not initialized (CVE-2019-16714)
rtl_p2p_noa_ie in drivers/net/wireless/realtek/rtlwifi/ps.c in the Linux kernel through 5.3.6 lacks a certain upper-bound check, leading to a buffer overflow (CVE-2019-17666)
For other upstream fixes in this update, see the referenced changelogs.

Security update for the Linux Kernel
The SUSE Linux Enterprise 12 SP2 kernel was updated to receive various security and bugfixes.
The following security bugs were fixed:
- CVE-2019-3819: A flaw was fixed in the function hid_debug_events_read() in drivers/hid/hid-debug.c file which may have enter an infinite loop with certain parameters passed from a userspace. A local privileged user ('root') could have caused a system lock up and a denial of service (bnc#1123161).
- CVE-2019-15118: Fixed kernel stack exhaustion in check_input_term in sound/usb/mixer.c via mishandled recursion (bnc#1145922).
- CVE-2019-15117: Fixed out-of-bounds memory access in parse_audio_mixer_unit in sound/usb/mixer.c via mishandled short descriptor (bnc#1145920).
- CVE-2019-14284: The drivers/block/floppy.c allowed a denial of service by setup_format_params division-by-zero. Two consecutive ioctls can trigger the bug: the first one should set the drive geometry with .sect and .rate values that make F_SECT_PER_TRACK be zero. Next, the floppy format operation should be called. It can be triggered by an unprivileged local user even when a floppy disk has not been inserted. NOTE: QEMU creates the floppy device by default (bsc#1143189).
- CVE-2019-14283: The function set_geometry in drivers/block/floppy.c did not validate the sect and head fields, as demonstrated by an integer overflow and out-of-bounds read. It can be triggered by an unprivileged local user when a floppy disk has been inserted. NOTE: QEMU creates the floppy device by default (bsc#1143191).
- CVE-2019-13631: In parse_hid_report_descriptor in drivers/input/tablet/gtco.c, a malicious USB device can send an HID report that triggers an out-of-bounds write during generation of debugging messages (bsc#1142023).
- CVE-2019-11810: A NULL pointer dereference can occur when megasas_create_frame_pool() fails in megasas_alloc_cmds() in drivers/scsi/megaraid/megaraid_sas_base.c. This causes a Denial of Service, related to a use-after-free (bsc#1134399).
- CVE-2019-1125: Enable Spectre v1 swapgs mitigations (bsc#1139358).
- CVE-2019-10207: Check for missing tty operations in bluetooth/hci_uart (bsc#1142857).

Security update for the Linux Kernel
The SUSE Linux Enterprise 12 SP4 for Azure kernel was updated to receive various security and bugfixes.
The following security bugs were fixed:
- CVE-2019-15291: There was a NULL pointer dereference caused by a malicious USB device in the flexcop_usb_probe function in the drivers/media/usb/b2c2/flexcop-usb.c driver (bnc#1146540).
- CVE-2019-14821: An out-of-bounds access issue was found in the way Linux kernel's KVM hypervisor implements the coalesced MMIO write operation. It operates on an MMIO ring buffer 'struct kvm_coalesced_mmio' object, wherein write indices 'ring->first' and 'ring->last' value could be supplied by a host user-space process. An unprivileged host user or process with access to '/dev/kvm' device could use this flaw to crash the host kernel, resulting in a denial of service or potentially escalating privileges on the system (bnc#1151350).
- CVE-2017-18595: A double free may be caused by the function allocate_trace_buffer in the file kernel/trace/trace.c (bnc#1149555).
- CVE-2019-9506: The Bluetooth BR/EDR specification up to and including version 5.1 permitted sufficiently low encryption key length and did not prevent an attacker from influencing the key length negotiation. This allowed practical brute-force attacks (aka 'KNOB') that could decrypt traffic and injected arbitrary ciphertext without the victim noticing (bnc#1137865 bnc#1146042).
- CVE-2019-14835: A buffer overflow flaw was found in the way Linux kernel's vhost functionality that translates virtqueue buffers to IOVs, logged the buffer descriptors during migration. A privileged guest user able to pass descriptors with invalid length to the host when migration is underway, could have used this flaw to increase their privileges on the host (bnc#1150112).
- CVE-2019-15216: There was a NULL pointer dereference caused by a malicious USB device in the drivers/usb/misc/yurex.c driver (bnc#1146361).
- CVE-2019-15924: fm10k_init_module in drivers/net/ethernet/intel/fm10k/fm10k_main.c had a NULL pointer dereference because there was no -ENOMEM upon an alloc_workqueue failure (bnc#1149612).
- CVE-2019-9456: In the Pixel C USB monitor driver there was a possible OOB write due to a missing bounds check. This could have led to local escalation of privilege with System execution privileges needed. User interaction is not needed for exploitation (bnc#1150025).
- CVE-2019-15031: In the Linux kernel on the powerpc platform, a local user could have read vector registers of other users' processes via an interrupt. To exploit the vulnerability, a local user starts a transaction (via the hardware transactional memory instruction tbegin) and then accesses vector registers. At some point, the vector registers will be corrupted with the values from a different local Linux process, because MSR_TM_ACTIVE was misused in arch/powerpc/kernel/process.c (bnc#1149713).
- CVE-2019-15030: In the Linux kernel on the powerpc platform, a local user could have read vector registers of other users' processes via a Facility Unavailable exception. To exploit the venerability, a local user starts a transaction (via the hardware transactional memory instruction tbegin) and then accesses vector registers. At some point, the vector registers will be corrupted with the values from a different local Linux process because of a missing arch/powerpc/kernel/process.c check (bnc#1149713).
- CVE-2019-15920: SMB2_read in fs/cifs/smb2pdu.c had a use-after-free. (bnc#1149626).
- CVE-2019-15921: There was a memory leak issue when idr_alloc() fails in genl_register_family() in net/netlink/genetlink.c (bnc#1149602).
- CVE-2018-21008: A use-after-free could have been caused by the function rsi_mac80211_detach in the file drivers/net/wireless/rsi/rsi_91x_mac80211.c (bnc#1149591).
- CVE-2019-15919: SMB2_write in fs/cifs/smb2pdu.c had a use-after-free (bnc#1149552).

Security update for the Linux Kernel
The SUSE Linux Enterprise 12 SP1 kernel was updated to receive various security and bugfixes.
The following security bugs were fixed:
- CVE-2018-12207: Untrusted virtual machines on Intel CPUs could exploit a race condition in the Instruction Fetch Unit of the Intel CPU to cause a Machine Exception during Page Size Change, causing the CPU core to be non-functional.
The Linux Kernel KVM hypervisor was adjusted to avoid page size changes in executable pages by splitting / merging huge pages into small pages as needed. More information can be found on https://www.suse.com/support/kb/doc/?id=7023735
- CVE-2019-11135: Aborting an asynchronous TSX operation on Intel CPUs with Transactional Memory support could be used to facilitate sidechannel information leaks out of microarchitectural buffers, similar to the previously described 'Microarchitectural Data Sampling' attack.
The Linux kernel was supplemented with the option to disable TSX operation altogether (requiring CPU Microcode updates on older systems) and better flushing of microarchitectural buffers (VERW).
The set of options available is described in our TID at https://www.suse.com/support/kb/doc/?id=7024251
