ksmbd: fix use-after-free in SMB request handling
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
ksmbd: fix use-after-free in SMB request handling
A race condition exists between SMB request handling in
ksmbd_conn_handler_loop() and the freeing of ksmbd_conn in the
workqueue handler handle_ksmbd_work(). This leads to a UAF.
- KASAN: slab-use-after-free Read in handle_ksmbd_work
- KASAN: slab-use-after-free in rtlock_slowlock_locked
This race condition arises as follows:
ksmbd_conn_handler_loop()waits forconn->r_countto reach zero:wait_event(conn->r_count_q, atomic_read(&conn->r_count) == 0);- Meanwhile,
handle_ksmbd_work()decrementsconn->r_countusingatomic_dec_return(&conn->r_count), and if it reaches zero, callsksmbd_conn_free(), which freesconn. - However, after
handle_ksmbd_work()decrementsconn->r_count, it may still accessconn->r_count_qin the following line:waitqueue_active(&conn->r_count_q)orwake_up(&conn->r_count_q)This results in a UAF, asconnhas already been freed.
The discovery of this UAF can be referenced in the following PR for syzkaller's support for SMB requests.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
firmware: qcom: scm: Mark get_wq_ctx() as atomic call
Currently get_wq_ctx() is wrongly configured as a standard call. When two SMC calls are in sleep and one SMC wakes up, it calls get_wq_ctx() to resume the corresponding sleeping thread. But if get_wq_ctx() is interrupted, goes to sleep and another SMC call is waiting to be allocated a waitq context, it leads to a deadlock.
To avoid this get_wq_ctx() must be an atomic call and can't be a standard SMC call. Hence mark get_wq_ctx() as a fast call.(CVE-2024-46692)
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
drm/vmwgfx: Prevent unmapping active read buffers
The kms paths keep a persistent map active to read and compare the cursor buffer. These maps can race with each other in simple scenario where: a) buffer "a" mapped for update b) buffer "a" mapped for compare c) do the compare d) unmap "a" for compare e) update the cursor f) unmap "a" for update At step "e" the buffer has been unmapped and the read contents is bogus.
Prevent unmapping of active read buffers by simply keeping a count of how many paths have currently active maps and unmap only when the count reaches 0.(CVE-2024-46710)
