sctp: don't free the ASCONF's own transport in DEL-IP processing

9.8 CriticalPublic exploitFix available

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:

sctp: don't free the ASCONF's own transport in DEL-IP processing

sctp_process_asconf() caches the transport the ASCONF chunk is processed against in asconf->transport (== chunk->transport, set once in sctp_rcv()). For an ASCONF located through its Address Parameter by __sctp_rcv_asconf_lookup(), that cached transport corresponds to the Address Parameter, which need not be the packet's source address.

sctp_process_asconf_param() rejects a DEL-IP for the packet source address (ADDIP D8, SCTP_ERROR_DEL_SRC_IP), but nothing protects asconf->transport. A single ASCONF can therefore carry, in order:

[Address Parameter L] [DEL-IP L] [DEL-IP 0.0.0.0]

where L differs from the source. The DEL-IP for L passes the D8 check and calls sctp_assoc_rm_peer() on the transport that asconf->transport still points at, freeing it (RCU-deferred). The following wildcard DEL-IP then reuses the now-dangling asconf->transport in sctp_assoc_set_primary() and sctp_assoc_del_nonprimary_peers(): set_primary() dereferences the freed transport (->ipaddr, ->state) and plants the dangling pointer into asoc->peer.primary_path / active_path, and del_nonprimary_peers(), keeping only the pointer that is no longer on the list, removes every real transport, leaving the association with a transport_count of 0 and primary_path/active_path pointing at freed memory.

Reject a DEL-IP that targets the transport the ASCONF is being processed against, mirroring the existing source-address guard, so the wildcard branch can never reuse a freed transport.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:

wifi: cfg80211: cancel rfkill_block work in wiphy_unregister()

There is a use-after-free error in cfg80211_shutdown_all_interfaces found by syzkaller:

The problem arises due to the rfkill_block work is not cancelled when wiphy is being unregistered. In order to fix the issue cancel the corresponding work in wiphy_unregister().

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:

Bluetooth: L2CAP: Fix type confusion in l2cap_ecred_reconf_rsp()

l2cap_ecred_reconf_rsp() casts the incoming data to struct l2cap_ecred_conn_rsp (the ECRED connection response, 8 bytes with result at offset 6) instead of struct l2cap_ecred_reconf_rsp (2 bytes with result at offset 0).

This causes two problems:

  • The sizeof(*rsp) length check requires 8 bytes instead of the correct 2, so valid L2CAP_ECRED_RECONF_RSP packets are rejected with -EPROTO.

  • rsp->result reads from offset 6 instead of offset 0, returning wrong data when the packet is large enough to pass the check.

Fix by using the correct type. Also pass the already byte-swapped result variable to BT_DBG instead of the raw __le16 field.(CVE-2026-43062)

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:

apparmor: Fix & Optimize table creation from possibly unaligned memory

Source blob may come from userspace and might be unaligned. Try to optize the copying process by avoiding unaligned memory accesses.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:

md/raid5: validate payload size before accessing journal metadata

r5c_recovery_analyze_meta_block() and r5l_recovery_verify_data_checksum_for_mb() iterate over payloads in a journal metadata block using on-disk payload size fields without validating them against the remaining space in the metadata block.

A corrupted journal contains payload sizes extending beyond the PAGE_SIZE boundary can cause out-of-bounds reads when accessing payload fields or computing offsets.

Add bounds validation for each payload type to ensure the full payload fits within meta_size before processing.(CVE-2026-46070)

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:

KVM: x86: Fix shadow paging use-after-free due to unexpected GFN

The shadow MMU computes GFNs for direct shadow pages using sp->gfn plus the SPTE index. This assumption breaks for shadow paging if the guest page tables are modified between VM entries (similar to commit aad885e77496, "KVM: x86/mmu: Drop/zap existing present SPTE even when creating an MMIO SPTE", 2026-03-27). The flow is as follows:

  • a PDE is installed for a 2MB mapping, and a page in that area is accessed. KVM creates a kvm_mmu_page consisting of 512 4KB pages; the kvm_mmu_page is marked by FNAME(fetch) as direct-mapped because the guest's mapping is a…

kernel security update

The Linux Kernel, the operating system core itself.

Security Fix(es):

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:

staging: greybus: uart: fix tty use after free

User space can hold a tty open indefinitely and tty drivers must not release the underlying structures until the last user is gone.

Switch to using the tty-port reference counter to manage the life time of the greybus tty state to avoid use after free after a disconnect.(CVE-2021-47358)

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:

net: sched: avoid qdisc_reset_all_tx_gt() vs dequeue race for lockless qdiscs

When shrinking the number of real tx queues, netif_set_real_num_tx_queues() calls qdisc_reset_all_tx_gt() to flush qdiscs for queues which will no longer be used.

qdisc_reset_all_tx_gt() currently serializes qdisc_reset() with qdisc_lock(). However, for lockless qdiscs, the dequeue path is serialized by qdisc_run_begin/end() using qdisc->seqlock instead, so qdisc_reset() can run concurrently with __qdisc_run() and free skbs while they are still being dequeued, leading to UAF.

This can easily be reproduced on e.g. virtio-net by imposing heavy traffic while frequently changing the number of queue pairs:

iperf3 -ub0 -c $peer -t 0 & while :; do ethtool -L eth0 combined 1 ethtool -L eth0 combined 2 done

With KASAN enabled, this leads to reports like:

BUG: KASAN: slab-use-after-free in __qdisc_run+0x133f/0x1760 ... Call Trace: <TASK> ... __qdisc_run+0x133f/0x1760 __dev_queue_xmit+0x248f/0x3550 ip_finish_output2+0xa42/0x2110 ip_output+0x1a7/0x410 ip_send_skb+0x2e6/0x480 udp_send_skb+0xb0a/0x1590 udp_sendmsg+0x13c9/0x1fc0 ... </TASK>

Serialize qdisc_reset_all_tx_gt() against the lockless dequeue path by taking qdisc->seqlock for TCQ_F_NOLOCK qdiscs, matching the serialization model already used by dev_reset_queue().

Additionally clear QDISC_STATE_NON_EMPTY after reset so the qdisc state reflects an empty queue, avoiding needless re-scheduling.(CVE-2026-23340)

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:

seg6: separate dst_cache for input and output paths in seg6 lwtunnel

The seg6 lwtunnel uses a single dst_cache per encap route, shared between seg6_input_core() and seg6_output_core(). These two paths can perform the post-encap SID lookup in different routing contexts (e.g., ip rules matching on the ingress interface, or VRF table separation). Whichever path runs first populates the cache, and the other reuses it blindly, bypassing its own lookup.

Fix this by splitting the cache into cache_input and cache_output, so each path maintains its own cached dst independently.(CVE-2026-31668)

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:

libceph: Fix potential out-of-bounds access in crush_decode()

A message of type CEPH_MSG_OSD_MAP containing a crush map with at least one bucket has two fields holding the bucket algorithm. If the values in these two fields differ, an out-of-bounds access can occur. This is the case because the first algorithm field (alg) is used to allocate the correct amount of memory for a bucket of this type, while the second algorithm field inside the bucket (b->alg) is used in the subsequent processing.

This patch fixes the issue by adding a check that compares alg and b->alg and aborts the processing in case they differ. Furthermore,…

OSVUBUNTU-CVE-2026-64564 9.3

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: sctp: don't free the ASCONF's own transport in DEL-IP processing sctp_process_asconf() caches the transport the ASCONF chunk is processed against in asconf->transport (== chunk->transport, set once in sctp_rcv()). A single ASCONF can therefore carry, in order: [Address Parameter L] [DEL-IP L] [DEL-IP 0.0.0.0] where L differs from the source.

CVE-2026-64564 affecting package kernel for versions less than 6.6.150.1-1

This page doesn't list everything

Left out here: 1,748 package rows, 2,529 versions, 5,961 references and the rest of 11 source descriptions. The JSON record has them. Also not on the record: 98 aliases. ID and package lookups still check them. Left out on purpose, here and in the API, to keep responses small: 147 source records.
